Welcome!Dorothy Stang Adult High School (DSAHS) was started in 2004, by a small group of educators and community activists, to meet the needs of Latinos, ages 25 and older, who wanted to continue their education, gain employment or move on to jobs and positions that improve their quality of life. The program provides relevant learning and skill building for our students through democratic decision making-processes requiring the participation of students, faculty, and administration. The model for the high school builds on the popular education movements of Latin America, and on recognizing the academic value of life experience. Students describe the DSAHS experience as transformative not only in offering the chance to enter college or gain better job opportunities, but in reclaiming their collective knowledge and personal authority and dignity.
